Addressing Reproductive Rights With Your Kids
we can do hard things, y'all.
Hi, friend. Happy you're here. Let's get into it, shall we?
I'm in D.C. as I type this, with the Women's March team, helping organize the Bans Off Our Bodies National Day of Action tomorrow (pic of my baby's second march ever down below). Over 400 marches will be happening across the country and hundreds of thousands of people will be showing up to send a clear message to lawmakers:
No-one should have a say in what happens to our bodies except us and our doctors. Everyone should have the right to have an abortion.
I wrote about why parents and caregivers should take kids to marches for abortion justice for my column so take a read. I'm also including a blurb from it below about why this antiracist parenting newsletter is talking about abortion.
I added some actionable tips on how to prepare your kids for going to a march so be sure to read the whole thing (hint: SNACKS!!).
As you prepare to take your kids to a march tomorrow (find one near you here), you'll want to have a convo with them before and after so I shared tips with Parents about talking to kids of any age about abortion, based on advice from therapists and abortion providers.
Taking your kids to a march tomorrow is an action we can all take to make it clear where we stand on abortion justice. If you're new to marching, welcome. If you've been to this rodeo a few times, hi!! There's space for all of us.
Okay, back to work for me. Wherever you march tomorrow, know that I'm in solidarity with you and together, we can show a united force to pressure lawmakers to reflect the will of the people.

p.s. Send me a pic from your march tmrw! My baby's from 2020 is below.
This is my baby and I during her second march at age 5 months in 2020.
This was the day before the march when we went to visit the artists who were hand painting the banner. She's so tiny!
